FX Compass is an independent, one-person project. It's built and maintained by Zak, an indie developer who designs and ships web tools solo.
Why it exists
Checking a single exchange rate (like EUR/USD) only tells you how two currencies compare to each other — not whether a currency is actually strong or weak overall. FX Compass started as a personal itch: a simple way to see how a currency performs against a whole basket of others at once, in both nominal and inflation-adjusted terms.
How the data works
The strength index is calculated daily from official exchange rate data published by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the National Bank of Poland (NBP), covering 16 major currencies. See the full methodology for the exact calculation.
No investment advice
FX Compass is an informational data tool, not a source of personalized financial or investment advice. It shows historical performance and trends — it doesn't predict future movements or recommend trades.
